Selecting the Concerns to Track

Now that you have a good overview of all the concerns the client has checked, you are ready to decide on the concerns they want to track.

Go to the Extensions>Results Tracking System>Add/Update Concerns. A window will open on the right.

Step 1: In the spaces below, ask the client or client’s parent(s) the first thing they would like to see improved and enter it in the box where it says “Concern 1: Client’s own words”. Make sure the description of the concern is specific enough that they can observe even small changes in the severityfrequency or duration of the concern on a day-to-day basis.

Step 2: Click where it says “Select Category" and start typing the category of the concern. The categories are Sleep, Pain, Physical, Anxiety, Depression/Mood, Behavioral, Attachment/Relationship/Personality,  Attention/Cognitive, Sensory, Headaches/Seizures/TBI, Eating and Appetite, Substance Use and Addiction and Peak Performance. Once you start typing a list of concerns in that category will appear. Select the item on that list that is closest to what the client would like to see improved. Use your best judgment.

Step 3: Repeat steps 1 and 2 so you have around 5 concerns selected and categorized. Later you can add more concerns if necessary. It is better if the concerns don’t all cluster in the same category. It is often good to have at least one physical concern like sleep as this is often the first to improve.

Step 4: When you are done, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the big blue button that says “Add/Update Concerns”. This will save your entries and copy the concerns to the Sessions tab.
